ATLANTA (August 20, 2004)- Lucas Group, one of the nations largest executive search firms, reports that the continued increases in healthcare benefits may have an impact on the recruiting industry.

If costs for healthcare benefits continue to rise, as in recent years past, it will mark the fifth year that healthcare costs have soared with a double-digit increase. So far this year, employers have already seen as much as a five percent increase and many times the increase in healthcare benefits is not a result of an increase in premiums.

"Many employers are looking at how healthcare costs are cutting into their budgets and in turn this has an impact on many expenses for the HR department," says Alex Baxter, Managing Partner at Lucas Group. "Our industry has not seen a direct impact at this moment, but recruiting firms are taking notice and strategizing for the possible impact that these rising healthcare costs will have on outsourced recruitment."

The executive search firm also notes that employers are also taking notice and strategizing to prevent any impacts these rising costs may have. Many are looking to ensure savings by implementing cost-cutting measures that include raising employee copayments, developing wellness programs, introducing flexible health spending accounts and developing educational programs that bring healthcare cost awareness to its employees.
