If costs for healthcare benefits continue to rise, as in recent years past, it will mark the fifth year that healthcare costs have soared with a double-digit increase. So far this year, employers have already seen as much as a five percent increase and many times the increase in healthcare benefits is not a result of an increase in premiums.

Many are looking to ensure savings by implementing cost-cutting measures that include raising employee copayments, developing wellness programs, introducing flexible health spending accounts and developing educational programs that bring healthcare cost awareness to its employees.
