Regent 4 Financial Aid Module Released for General Availability

Regent 4 Financial Aid Module Released for General Availability. New Version Incorporates Best in Breed Technology and Web-based Ease of Use

FREDERICK, MD (PRWEB) August 25, 2004 -- Computing Options, operating as Computing Options Company, Inc., announced today the general availability of the Financial Aid Management module (formerly known as SAFERS) of its Regent 4 administrative software suite for higher education. The new Financial Aid Module is pure web-based, platform independent, uses the ubiquitous Microsoft SQL or Oracle 9i database, and uses pure Java-based architecture for an open, standards-based design for easy integration to any of an institutions other systems.

The new Regent 4 suite is strategically priced to meet the budget constraints of small two and four-year colleges but with no compromise in features and functionality, making it suitable for just about any size college. Originally developed in 1979 by two college administrators in the Financial Aid office of a small college in Maryland, the Financial Aid Management module formed the cornerstone of what was to become a fully integrated administrative software suite for higher education, and a company, now known as Computing Options. The Regent 4 Financial Aid Management module can be purchased and implemented as a standalone application, integrated with Computing Options integrated administrative system or integrated with any existing administrative system the institution may be using. The Financial Aid Management module interfaces seamlessly with COD/Pell processing, XML direct lending processing, CommonLine compliant FFELP processing, Title IV refund calculations and easy ISIR downloads. In addition, the new version offers enhanced features for work-study monitoring, automated award packaging, automated document tracking, student self-service, and extensive canned" and ad-hoc reporting capability which meet all states requirements.

The new Regent 4 Financial Aid Management module showcases Computing Options commitment to new and ever-changing technologies and more importantly, their customers", said Sue Trumpick, Director of Campus Technology, Adirondack Community College. We have been using Computing Options full suite including the Financial Aid Management module since 1985 and we have always had great success with it. The Financial Aid office is very excited about the new look and feel of the new browser-based product and they are really looking forward to moving to it," said Greg Lanka, Computer Services Director, Stark State College.
