Teens Launch Unique Academic Tutoring Service in Maryland Geared Towards Student-To-Student Teaching
Erik Kimel, and newly appointed COO Brian Hendricks, recently re-launched Peer2Peer Tutors (www.peer2peertutors.com)with a top-notch website and expanded operations. The company tutors students of all grade levels in any academic subject. After its initial year of operation, the company has begun expansion into three additional high school districts hoping to quadruple earnings this upcoming school year. Peer2Peer Tutors employs 11th and 12th graders who want a flexible work schedule, extremely good pay, and a passion for helping others.
(PRWEB) August 24, 2004 -- Founded in the Fall of 2003, Peer2Peer Tutors began as a small after school activity for Erik Kimel as he made money while helping his friends in various academic subjects. Always wanting to have his own business, Kimel opened up a limited liability company entitled Erik Kimel Enterprises, L.L.C and began employing fellow students to assist in tutoring other clients. Within the last six months of the 2003-04 school year, the company made over ten thousand dollars. Clients ranged from elementary to high school level students.
After being accepted into Stern School of Business at New York University, Kimel knew that he had to find a replacement to oversee operations while away at college. He did so in Brian Hendricks, who is now the Chief Operating Officer of Peer2Peer Tutors. Hendricks is a nationally accredited teen entrepreneur who owns local PC business StartUpPC (www.startUpPC.com) as well as vBulletin Solutions, a web design firm. With the help of Brian, the company is being expanded into three additional high school districts in the Montgomery County Region, including Walt Whitman, Thomas S. Wootton, and Walter Johnson high schools as well as Winston Churchill high school, which was the birthplace of Peer2Peer Tutors. The company has hired four managers, one from each of the four districts, who will ensure smooth operations and whose tasks involve managing client and employee information, assisting in hiring tutors for their specific cluster, and setting up a client's first appointment.
Directly from their website, the company's mission statement reads "Our mission is to provide a unique, sensible, yet affordable tutoring service to our local area. In addition, besides improving the student understands of the course material, our goal is to educate them on proper study habits and academic techniques. We feel that students, especially our clients, will learn more from those that they look up to and see on a regular basis. While helping the student recieve an A in their class is important to us, the primary goal of our tutoring sessions is to ensure the client has the study skills and time management ability to do better in all of their classes".
Included on the website of Peer2Peer Tutors (which can be found at http://www.peer2peertutors.com) are signup forms for both prospective employees and clients as well as contact form that can send emails to over ten different recipients. In addition, a live sales chat program has been added to the website which gives visitors full of questions the ability to speak with a company employee via an instant messenger-like interface.
Finally, recently the company's business plan has been added and can be found at http://www.peer2peertutors.com/B-Plan/P2PTutors_Business_Plan.pdf . The plan includes an extremely in-depth look at the company and how it operates. It also includes links in the appendices to all of their important documents such as Financial Statements, Policies and Procedures Manuals, Contracts, and Information Management Sheets.
