San Jose, CA (PRWEB) August 24, 2004

Soccer Silicon Valley announced the launch of their 2005 San Jose Earthquakes Season Ticket Pledge Drive, part of the group’s continuing effort to encourage local investors to purchase the San Jose Earthquakes, reigning champions of Major League Soccer.

“If you don’t have season tickets, now is the time to get them. If you already have season tickets, now is the time to double the number you get,” said Colin McCarthy, Soccer Silicon Valley president.

The group is asking both its members and the general public to pledge to buy season tickets for the Earthquakes’ 2005 season, now in doubt due to the current owner’s plans to sell and relocate the team.

The Pledge Drive comes on the heels of Friday’s successful downtown San Jose rally, which drew a crowd of over 1,500 soccer fans to voice their support for keeping the team in the Bay Area.

“Now it’s time to back up that vocal support with financial support,” added McCarthy, noting that a solid season ticket base will help attract potential investors.

Anyone interested in pledging to buy season tickets to the Earthquakes’ 2005 season can e-mail TicketPledge@SoccerSiliconValley.com, including their name, address, phone number, the number of season tickets they currently own (if any) and the number of season tickets they are pledging to buy. (Soccer Silicon Valley asks that no one send money or credit card information at this time.)

The group is also continuing its search for investors to purchase the team. Interested parties are asked to e-mail Investors@SoccerSiliconValley.com
