(PRWEB) August 26, 2004 -- Vodavi Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:VTEK), a provider of traditional and next generation business telecommunications solutions, today announced the availability of a compact telephone system that will provide enterprise customers with an affordable, fully featured, converged communications solution for small office or multi-location office applications. The new XTSc or compact" telephone system is comprised of a single cabinet and starts as low as eight (8) stations and can grow to 44 stations.

For small businesses, the XTSc now places high-end features and functions such as IP Telephony (VoIP), multi-site networking, T1/PRI trunking, Caller ID and digital voice mail within financial reach. These features, which are common with larger telephone systems, have historically been cost-prohibitive for many smaller businesses.

In instances where remote business locations have fewer employees, the XTSc can be installed at the remote site and networked with other XTSc systems or even Vodavis larger XTS system. This networked approach offers a reduced capital equipment solution at the smaller remote location and allows those users to share the same dialing plan, intercom, Caller ID, voice mail, paging and transfer capabilities with fellow employees at larger branch locations.

Olympic Telephone, a Tacoma, WA-based Vodavi Authorized Gold dealer, is anxious to begin selling the XTSc. Our best-selling product at Olympic is the larger Vodavi XTS telephone system primarily due to its expansion capability, comprehensive features list and affordability," said Jack Roffler, vice president, Olympic Telephone. The ability for a single system to fit the needs of so many diverse customers is truly a testament to the systems well thought-out design." He added, The addition of the XTSc to the mix will provide us with even more opportunity to sell than before. Its a perfect solution, for example, for remote business sites that need fewer stations. In this node scenario, the ability to network systems and offer Caller ID, T1 and VoIP is a big deal. We are very excited to offer the XTSc system to our customers because it now makes available capabilities which used to be reserved only for larger, more expensive phone systems."

The XTSc extends Vodavis successful XTS product line and enables enterprise customers to take advantage of a truly converged solution that delivers the benefits of both traditional and VoIP telephony," said Gregory Roeper, president, Vodavi Technology, Inc. The systems phones and internal components are upward compatible with Vodavis larger XTS solution, assuring customers that their investment is preserved should their enterprise grow. In a time when manufacturers often view technology as a 'disposable commodity, Vodavi remains committed to developing products that protect our customers investment. The XTSc is a prime example of Vodavis commitment."

The capacity for the XTSc solution starts at 4 Central Office (CO) lines, 8 stations and 2 analog ports and can grow to 28 CO lines, 44 stations and 2 analog ports. The single cabinet solution has 5 universal expansion slots that can be used for station, CO, ISDN, in-skin voice mail or VoIP cards. Optional in-skin voice mail* includes 8 ports that support up to 64 mailboxes and comes standard with 3 hours of memory that can be expanded to 9 hours. Other applications such as Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) and Computer Telephony Integration are also easy add-ons.

The new XTSc joins Vodavis larger XTS system to broaden the XTS product family. The previously introduced XTS system is Vodavis largest, and most advanced converged communications system that supports single-site business environments up to 600 ports. The XTS system can also be networked using VoIP or T1/PRI up to 32 sites to support larger or geographically dispersed enterprises.

A wide variety of ancillary products are available as add-ons to the entire XTS product line. The Discovery VoIP interface provides ability to deploy TeleniumIP phones as extensions off the XTS or XTSc systems in the office or from any point in the world where a high-speed Internet or wide area network service exists. For more robust voice mail and unified messaging applications, Vodavis PathFinder Windows-based system is available.
