Ex-Tabloid Hack Steve Trotter Releases Hilarious Black Humor Thriller...
"The National Truth" is More Sensational Than The National Enquirer
Steve Trotter, former tabloid writer and associate editor for The Globe and The National Examiner, announces the release of his larger than life black humor thriller, The National Truth. Drawing from his extensive experience in the field of sensational journalism, Trotter concocts his own wacky tale about Dave Taylor, a wannabe rock star cum tabloid writer.
Montréal, Canada (PRWEB) August 27, 2004 -- Dave Taylor wanted to be a rock star. But bars and recovering alcoholics make a lousy mix, so now hes back doing the same job he quit twenty years ago - writing for The National Truth, Americas #1 supermarket tabloid. The stuff Dave writes is sensational, but nothing compared to whats going on at TNT: a naked reporter slain on church steps, a dead hit man whacked, a transvestite nun with a gun, Daves fiancée disappearing on their practice honeymoon, and a stalker with a penchant for parochial school uniforms who keeps on returning from the dead. The jobs a piece of cake. Staying alive and sober is another story.
This week, 5.4 million enquiring minds will buy a copy of a supermarket tabloid," says Trotter. Millions more wouldnt be caught dead with one - in public. Both groups will get a kick out of The National Truth."
Critics adore The National Truth for its unique style and off-the-wall humor.
A wild and wacky thriller... Steve Trotter exposes the sleazy world of tabloid publishing with the authority of an insider and the LOL hilarity of a marathon segment of SNL." -K.T. Bartlett, travel writer, Florida.
Quirky, fun, catchy... I couldnt put it down. Not often do I fall on a book that I just cant leave on the table. This one was terrific." -Joan Paiement, University student, Québec.
"Funny, irreverent, excellent!" -Christine Calnin, author of Addicted to Sex.
Trotter spent eight years as a yellow journalist (interviewing talking dogs, tracking Elvis sightings and warning of killer hot dogs). He also toiled as a longshoreman, TV soundman (CTV & CBS) and music publicist (PolyGram). An award-winning lyricist whose song credits include DeGrassi High (Do It, High & Low), Trotter sang for his supper in concerts with Steppenwolf, Mahogany Rush and Midnight Oil. During a stint in the Canadian Army, Trotter defended the true north strong and free by writing poetry at a NORAD station. Trotter has penned travel features for The Globe & Mail, AAA Going Places, and The Miami Herald, and was the editor of a string of Caribbean magazines. He is currently working on his second novel.
