Robert Evans to Receive 'Leadership Award At Internationally Acclaimed Toronto Film Festival Gala Dinner

It was announced today that legendary Hollywood producer Robert Evans will be presented with the prestigious Leadership Award" at the Best Buddies Gala Evening" during this years Toronto Film Festival (Sept 9th -- 18th). The star-studded event on September 13th 2004 is co-chaired by festival board members and will see Evans join an elite list of previous award winners which includes Muhammad Ali, Maria Shriver and Herb Ritts.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 27, 2004 -- It was announced today that legendary Hollywood producer Robert Evans will be presented with the prestigious Leadership Award" at the Best Buddies Gala Evening" during this years Toronto Film Festival (Sept 9th -- 18th). The star-studded event on September 13th 2004 is co-chaired by festival board members and will see Evans join an elite list of previous award winners which includes Muhammad Ali, Maria Shriver and Herb Ritts.

The Best Buddies Leadership Award" honors those who have repeatedly led the way in their field and made a significant contribution to humanity. Evans, who has produced such titles as The Godfather (1972) and Chinatown (1974) and recently was the star of Comedy Centrals animated TV series Kid Notorious, was an obvious choice for the award according to festival board member and gala co-chair, Barry Avrich, who commented:

The award will be presented at the tenth annual Best Buddies Toronto Gala, which has traditionally attracted the biggest names in Hollywood. Probable attendees for this years gala evening include Jamie Foxx, Warren Beatty, Renée Zellweger, Liam Neeson, Hilary Swank and Sigourney Weaver.

The partnership between the Best Buddies charity and the Toronto Film Festival continues to grow as the festival enters its twenty-ninth year. The festival is now regarded as, the North American stop" for industry professionals. Previous years have seen the festival launch such award-winning titles as 21 Grams, Training Day and American Beauty.

Best Buddies Gala is always an exciting and elegant addition to the 10 day Festival. Last years event raised over $450,000 and was attended by Best Buddies founder and chairman, Anthony K. Shriver. This years Gala presentation will be taking place in the Kool Haus in Toronto, on September 13th, and will be a glamorous and fitting tribute to Evans and his career.
