Northeastern Holistic Health Fair Set to Raise Funds for Salaam Shriners Childrens Hospital, JESPY House of South Orange

Livingston Natural Foods and Fine Tuning Therapy sponsoring event to bring healthy healing knowledge to area residents

Livingston, NJ (PRWEB) August 28, 2004 -- Peter Garfinkel of Livingston, New Jersey suffered from years of painful and debilitating arthritis and an overactive immune system. Conventional medications left him with stomach bleeds, ongoing nausea, and frequent inflammatory flare-ups.

Discouraged and dejected from the constant pain and discomfort, Garfinkel began to investigate numerous alternative or complementary regimes in order to regain his health. As President of Livingston Natural Foods, he developed a regime of nutritional supplements in order to get his life back. It was through his research that Garfinkel was able to finally suppress the constant inflammation and repair his body.

Now in the best shape of his life, Garfinkel has set out to help others achieve healthier lives. With long time friend, massage therapy expert, and holistic health advocate Dara Winters, President of Fine Tuning Therapy, the pair is sponsoring the Northeast Holistic Health Fair to be held on Sunday, October 24, 2004 from 9 am to 5 pm.

Winters had attended the recent Hillsbourough Holistic Fair in Hillsbourough, NJ, and was greatly impressed with the event. It had motivated local community members to learn to be good to themselves by embracing various holistic health practices and promoted a growing awareness for participants to be good to one another. It was after experiencing the Hillsbourough Fair that Winters discussed the idea with Garfinkel of bringing a similar event to Livington.

To be held at the Salaam Shriners Center, 369 E. Mt Pleasant Avenue, Livington, NJ, the health fair will showcase a wide variety of the regions best providers of homeopathic, chiropractic, exercise, nutritional, ayurveda, Yoga, and aromatherapy services. Members of the community can learn more about Reiki, acupressure, essential therapeutic oils, Feng Shui, Tai Chi, acupuncture, hypnosis, and much more. Animal family members can even benefit from exhibitors specializing in pet nutrition.

The fair will also highlight a number of non-profit organizations such as the JESPY House and the Salaam Shriners.

In addition, the talented, young local artist Brad Goldman will be on hand to demonstrate and exhibit his beautiful painted cards created using his headgear device. A number of his stunning, one-of-a-kind cards will be available for purchase at the fair.

The American Red Cross Essex County Vampire Mobile will also be on site to accept donations from area residents.

A portion of the proceeds from the Northeastern Holistic Health Fair will be donated to the Salaam Shriners Childrens Hospital and the JESPY House of South Orange, NJ.

Admission to the Northeastern Holistic Health Fair is $5.00 at the door. Children 12 years of age and under are admitted for free. There will be a fish bowl raffle for the chance to win valuable prizes. Vegetarian and vegan foods and beverages will also be available. The Salaam Shriners Center is handicapped accessible.

Exhibitors interested in attending the fair may obtain further details on table and booth spaces rentals by contacting Peter Garfinkel of Livingston Natural Foods at 973-992-8243, or Dara Winters of Fine Tuning Therapy at 973-751-5773.
