Jane Flowers, author of Whispers In The Grass has started a small press publishing company. Her background in small press publishing and years of experience as a freelance writer have encouraged her to start a new venture as a small press publisher. Jane's experience includes being the owner editor of a registered Zimbabwe News Paper the Karribbean (1998), she holds a diploma in Media Studies and her first novel was published in 2000. The company is operating in New Zealand where she has lived for the past four years. She is releasing one of her own fiction novels in the near future and has recently signed up her first author, Sue Guthrie who has a history in writing education books for children. Situated in the Nelson Bays area of New Zealand, she says she is keen to publish African writers now living in the Pacific Region."There are hundreds of thousands of Expat Africans living in the Pacific region and they are all hungry for works that remind them of their roots. Many of these ex- Africans are writers that cannot find a market for their work and I hope to fill that niche." Submissions will be accepted from December 2004.
