We are thrilled to be able to sponsor this fantastic cultural event once again for the community of Los Angeles," said Barbara Barsi, marketing director, Park La Brea Apartments.
Most importantly, we hope to raise even more funds for the kids and families that look forward to attending this very special camp each year."
Each year, funds raised from Art in the Park help cover the costs of camping programs, including transportation, food and costly medical supplies. In 2003 alone, more than 1,300 children with cancer and their families attended camp. According to Carol Horvitz, executive director, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, As the need for our program grows, so do the costs, which is another reason why this event is so important."
Last year, more than 5,000 visitors attended the event -- raising more than $25,000 in support of Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times. This year, the event has been expanded to two days in order to increase donations and allow for additional artists to participate. On the final event day, Los Angeles 4th District Council member Tom LaBonge, along with other city dignitaries will present a check to Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times representatives.
Originally designed in the early 1940s by Architects Gordon Kaufman and J.E. Stanton, Park La Brea is, to this day, a modern marvel of architectural design and planning. Inspired by the innovative housing of Le Corbusier in Paris, this architectural team set out to create multifamily housing in a new way. Today, the entire 167-acre complex has been meticulously renovated with broadband cable television, telephone and Internet connections, gourmet kitchens, and beautifully restored interiors. Spectacular gardens, a junior Olympic pool, state-of-the-art fitness center and a premiere location make Park La Brea the best place to live in Los Angeles.
