GIANtmicrobes have invaded Canada. These fun furry dolls are identical to common viruses but 1 million times actual size.

The Flu, Bad Breath, And Athletes Foot turned into new line of Dolls lf you think of disease as lovable and huggable, then you'd love the line of plush dolls made by Giantmicrobes, Inc. The company makes dolls that resemble disease-causing microbes. The dolls include Sleeping Sickness, Stomach Ache, Ulcer, Kissing Disease and Bad Breath plus 14 more. Each one looks like a real microbe (1,000,000 times actual size!) and comes complete with a picture of what it represents and information about the microbe.

Originally marketed as an educational product by Drew Oliver - former editor of Harvard Lampoon Magazine - the microbes have received a lot of interest from the general public. "Everybody gets sick," says Oliver. "Giantmicrobes are a fun way of reliving that experience."

The product line was introduced in January 2002 and has been enthusiastically received at a retail level in the United States. The combination of humour, education, and sympathy resonates with parents, children, educators, pediatricians, science buffs and many others.

At a retail level, the product line is available in independent toy stores, bookstores, science museums, children’s museums, hospital gift shops, and general gift shops through out Canada.

Newly released are the professional series dolls designed to educate about Hepatitis and HIV.
