Meriden, CT (PRWEB) August 30, 2004 -- Resident Lori Avocato the former Lorraine Gansecki announces the debut of her first mystery novel, A Dose of Murder, published by Avon/HarperCollins. This novel is the first in The Pauline Sokol Mystery Series and is under consideration by Disney for a series on Lifetime television.
    
A Dose of Murder, a September 28, 2004 release is about a Polish American burned out registered nurse who becomes a medical insurance fraud investigator only to be yanked back into the nursing field by an experienced hunk of an investigator who she just cant say no to--until she stumbles upon two dead bodies. Book#2 (as yet untitled) is a July 2005 release, and Book #3 tentatively titled, ONE DEAD UNDER THE CUCKOOS NEST, will be released October 2005.
    
Ms. Avocato, an Air Force veteran nurse, has been writing for several years and has taught fiction writing in adult education classes. Under her maiden name, Lorraine Gansecki, she has graduated from Platt High School class of 69, St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing 73, SCSU in 76, did staff nursing at The Hospital of St. Raphael in 1973-76, some private duty nursing at Yale and entered the Air Force in 1976.
