New London, CT (PRWEB) September 2, 2004 -- The Child Adoption Resources Association, Inc and Toys R Us, Waterford, are teaming up for kids! September 25, 2004, from noon to four, shoppers at Toys R Us, Waterford, can learn about adoption from an agency that serves all residents of New London County. CARA will have staff on hand to answer questions as well as families who have adopted through CARA and birth moms whom CARA has helped form an adoption plan. CARA is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3), licensed, child-placing agency committed to finding families for children in need of adoptive placement. CARA helps with the adoption of children of all ages and races, from the United States as well as other countries. CARA provides home studies and educational training for all types of adoption.

CARA counsels pregnant women considering placing children for adoption and places a limited number of infants born in Connecticut. CARA belongs to a network of agencies that place children from the United States and many other countries. CARA also does home studies and provides post-placement services for children adopted from state foster care systems.

During the afternoon, prospective parents can visit informational booths to learn about domestic adoption, international adoption, adopting from foster care, and the fast-growing trend of open adoptions. The Dave Thomas Foundations study on adoption attitudes completed in 2002 reflects that four out of ten Americans have considered adoption as a way to build their family. CARA will help those families realize this desire. Toys R Us and CARA are dedicated to helping children achieve the dream of finding forever families.
