(PRWEB) September 2, 2004 -- Tuesday August 31, 2004 marked the official release of Nick Venturellas third full-length solo album, Linear Cycle of the Seasons." The album was released on his own OatMeal Records label.
As a kick-off for the albums release Venturella performed at his alma mater, Edgewood College, Madison, WI. The performance was a pre-release show on Monday August 30, 2004 with fellow college market singer/songwriter Jason LeVasseur. The performance was part of Edgewoods student orientation for the 2004 -- 2005 school year. Advance copies of Venturellas new album were made available at the show.
Its always great to perform at Edgewood. This is where I really got my music going, and the Edgewood community has always been very supportive of what I do," said Venturella. There was an incredible turnout at the show, and Jason LeVasseur is another fun performer to see. As we were outside, the weather was perfect, which made for an exciting night," said Venturella.
Venturellas latest effort takes the listener through the seasons of the year beginning with fall proceeding to winter, spring, and summer. The sonic moods and content of the songs reflect the seasons as they parallel the patterns that life and relationships create.
Venturella took a more minimalistic approach to recording Linear Cycle of the Seasons" than on previous albums. Recording by himself in his home studio Venturella performed all the instruments and voicings that appear on the album.
I really wanted the album to play out like a series of analog sounding demos that were pieced together to create this seasonal 'mixed tape," said Venturella.
Venturellas next performance will be at the Acoustic Café in Winona, MN on Saturday September 4, 2004 at 8:30pm. This is a venue Venturella frequents about twice a year. It will be the first live show with his new album officially available for purchase. An official Madison-area CD release party is in the works for the end of September or possibly early October.
