See the light! Say goodbye to dark eye circles.

You can thank your parents for this one: Darkness under the eyes is most often the result of hereditary thinning of the skin, which makes blood vessels more visible. Lack of sleep is the other culprit. Concealer may be your best friend when it comes to disguising darkness but doctors have now got a number of treatments that can shed some long-term light on the situation.

Singapore (PRWEB) September 7, 2004 -- If youre on a quest for eliminating those dark eye circles, forget over-the-counter eye creams and gels. Now therere newer and more effective weapons in the anti-dark-eye-circles arsenal.

A growing number of people are turning to doctors to help them in the battle against dark eye circles. From zapping them with Intense Pulsed Light, to injecting vitamin cocktails into their skin, women are beginning to abandon the traditional eye creams for the no-nonsense approach to treating this age-old problem.

Dr. Low Chai Ling, an aesthetic physician in Singapore, has been at the forefront of treating patients with dark eye circles using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and a special injection technique called Mesotherapy Skin Rejuvenation (or Mesolift).

Many patients usually come to me after spending obscene amounts of money on expensive eye creams, and are resigned with having to live with their dark eye circles for the rest of their lives. So they are pleasantly surprised to find there are treatments they can undergo to improve their condition."

Many of Dr. Lows patients have undergone IPL treatments in combination with a procedure called mesotherapy skin rejuvenation or Mesolift to revitalize dark eye circles as well as facial skin. Dr. Low says mesotherapy skin rejuvenation or Mesolift infuses the dermis with potent vitamins and anti-oxidants by a series of microinjections to rejuvenate and revitalize the skin whilst IPL plumps up the patients skin by stimulating collagen production.

Think of it as replacing the padding underneath a worn carpet. People who have had a Mesolift" describe their skin as firm, radiant, youthful and glowing. For those who have had to live with dark eye circles for some time, even they begin to see results even after the first treatment."

Mesotherapy skin rejuvenation is a wonderful compliment to any of the other skin treatments such as photo rejuvenation, chemical peels, Botox and dermal fillers, but it definitely stands on its own as a powerful anti-aging therapy. Some patients have the procedure performed on their entire face to reap maximum benefits from the vitamin and anti-oxidants injections.

Mesotherapy skin rejuvenation is not considered an alternative to an educated and self-empowered healthy lifestyle. Of course, late nights and binge drinking will still leave tell-tale signs on your face and under your eyes. It is, however, a very useful tool to have in your skin beautification toolbox!" says Dr. Low.

Annie Lo, 27 who is a staunch advocate of monthly IPL and mesotherapy skin rejuvenation treatments for treating her dark eye circles as well as her tired dull skin, has never looked back since starting the regime with Dr. Low at her clinic in Singapore.

It is completely fuss-free for me! I dont have to bother with expensive beauty regimes. I just turn up once a month and treat myself to IPL, followed by tiny injections of vitamins and other good stuff into my skin."

Really it feels like nothing, though initially it sounds a lot scarier than it actually is. I usually manage to catch a few winks during my treatments if that is any indication of just how comfortable I am under Dr. Lows hands."

A session of IPL start at US$350, and a session of mesotherapy skin rejuvenation start at US$200. For those of us who may balk at the price tags of such treatments, dont despair. Dr. Low does offer a custom blended Vitamin K cream for dark eye circles, as well as an exclusive range of multivitamin booster gels from Skin Inc.

Cosmeceuticals for perking up the complexion. The catch? They dont work as well without the treatments, and because they are prescription based items, an initial consultation with the doctor is necessary.
