Opera-Over-Easy Cabaret: Paul Turner at Java Jim's Natick (MA) -- December 3, 2004

In the midst of the 2004 holiday season, Paul Turner returns to Java Jim's Natick (MA) for two sets of Opera-Over-Easy cabaret. December 3, 2004 at 8:00pm, with Elaine Smith Purcell on piano.

(PRWEB) September 4, 2004 -- PAUL TURNER, cross-over singer from opera land, returns to Java Jim's Natick on December 3, 2004. In two 45-minute sets. Songs from the Great American Songbook, gospel, and opera. With international holiday tunes.

ELAINE SMITH PURCELL, coach, conductor, and collaborative pianist, will accompany Mr. Turner.

Paul Turner has recently appeared at the following cabaret venues: Java Jim's (Natick); Encore Piano Lounge in the Tremont Hotel (Boston); Frank's Steakhouse (Cambridge, MA); Kennedy's Midtown (Boston); The Center for the Arts (Natick). For an August 2004 engagement, Leslie Holmes chose Mr. Turner as the featured cabaret artist at Java Jim's (host, Dorothy Miller; pianist, Michael Larson). Mr. Turner is a member of the Boston Association of Cabaret Artists.

Paul Turner's recent opera performances include Camille/Pierre in Lehar's "The Merry Widow", Eisenstein in Strauss's "Die Fledermaus," Monostatos in Mozart's "The Magic Flute" and Gastone in Verdi's "La Traviata."

Paul Turner's poetry has appeared in Parnassus Literary Journal and Meridian Anthology of Contemporary Poetry, and will appear in forthcoming issues of Poetry Motel and Nomad's Choir. Among the upcoming publications is his poem, I sing because." Twice honored as the featured poet at the Agapé Poetry Series (Richard Moore, director) in Boston, Mr. Turner has headed the Poetry Workshop at Newton (MA) Free Library. He has also read at Borders Bookshops and Barnes and Noble.

A native of New York City, Paul Turner studied acting at Manhattan's School of Performing Arts.
