Alchemy Group (http://www.alchemy-group.com) founder and President Bob Shockey walked away with top honors in FileMaker, Inc.’s “FileMaker Idol” contest. Bob was one of seven finalists chosen from over 50 contestants. He presented the Alchemy Group’s “CareMinder solution, which is geared toward the Oncology market, to the conference’s 1500 attendees, who chose his solution as best of the seven finalists.

“This is a true honor,” says Shockey. “To be chosen by FileMaker as a finalist would have been enough. But to be recognized by my peers in the industry is just fantastic. It was a great pleasure to be able to present CareMinder at the convention keynote, and to showcase the many features that we have worked so hard to bring to this solution. With FileMaker 7, we have a development platform that is highly conducive to developing powerful, elegant solutions. I feel lucky to have helped showcase some of FileMaker 7’s excellent new features.”

The Alchemy Group is a Southern California database development firm, and has been in business for over five years. CareMinder was developed for one of the Alchemy Group’s clients, Cancer Care Consultants, a radiation oncology practice located throughout Southern California.

In addition to recognition by FileMaker, Inc. and his peers in the development community, Bob was awarded nearly $12,000 in computer equipment, software, and other benefits.
