Friends in the Bee set to Launch in October on Goodlife TV - THE QUILTERS MAGAZINE SHOW

iT'S NOT your average quilting show! Friends in the Bee is a magazine-style show that takes the 21 million women who quilt on whirling adventures across America, and then turns them into inventive quilting and home dec projects.

(PRWEB) September 5, 2004 -- After nearly two years on the road, Jodie Davis and Sue Ann Taylor are ready to release Friends in the Bee nationally on Goodlife TV.

Imagine a show that takes 14 unsuspecting quilters, in period dresses, across the Oregon Trail in authentic covered wagons - the no frills way! Friends in the Bee travels from state to state experiencing the most fun and quirky things in the country and turns them into quilting projects at the end.

"Where else are you going to find a show that will take you to the Barkus Parade at Mardi Gras and the Outhouse Races in the Upper Peninsula Michigan in the same series? asks series producer Sue Ann Taylor.

"We have been lobstering in Maine, picked cotton in Louisiana, learned how to make pizza and pizza quilts in Flint, and visited the home of The Electric Quilt company in Bowling Green, Ohio - where high tech, meets high touch." added Taylor.

Jodie Davis is the author of 26 books on quilting and other arts and brings a sence of spirit and comraderie to the series.

"It has been a blast touring the country filming Friends in the Bee, and our hard work has paid off... we have already received four national television awards! commented Jodie.

"Our next story is a teary one... we are off to spend a few days with Jessica Porter, the 19 year old quilter who has taken on the task of making a quilt to honor each of the service men and women lost in Iraq and Afganistan. The quilts are a very warm remembrance of those who have made the ultimate sacrafice for our freedom, and we want to help in any way we can. Jessica's story will be one of the first episodes to air this fall." Taylor offered.

The half-hour weekly will begin airing on October 16 on Goodlife TV and is sponsored by notables within the quilting industry.
