African American Alliance is Seeking Choirs to Enter Sing-Off Competition

The Third Annual Soulful Christmas Celebration will benefit the Coweta County African American Museum and Research Center and the Powell Chapel Schoolhouse renovation project

NEWNAN,GA (PRWEB) September 6, 2004 -- The African American Alliance, Inc. announced today that it is seeking choirs for its Sing- Off competition and fundraiser that will take place during the Third Annual Soulful Christmas Celebration on Saturday, December 11 at 6:00pm at the Newnan High Auditorium. The first place winner will receive a recording contract with Volume Records. The Alliance invites all Newnan churches, schools and groups to participate in this event that will benefit the Coweta County African American Museum and Research Center and the Powell Chapel Schoolhouse renovation project.

Choirs that are interested in preliminary consideration must send in a VHS tape, CD or cassette tape recording of their choir performing one or two selections. The entry fee is $75.00 per choir and the deadline for entries is Friday, October 22. A choir is defined by a group of two or more. A pre-event panel of judges will select the top twelve finalists who will then compete at the event on December 11.

The finalists will be judged by 50% crowd response and 50% by a panel of judges. So, if you want your choir to have a chance to win you must come out and cheer them on. Tickets are $10.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door.
