(PRWEB) September 6, 2004 -- PoliticalSushi.com announces the start of its drive to increase voter registration and participation among the 18 to 24 year old demographic. PoliticalSushi.com recently completed its voter registration website and hopes to have 100,000 potential voters use its site to register to vote.
According to the Federal Election Commission voter apathy among the 18 to 24 demographic had been pronounced during the 1990s. Of the almost 23 million potential voters in this age group only 43% registered to vote in 1998. Of those 42% who registered to vote only 18.5% or just over four million bothered to vote comprising a meager 5% of the total vote.
Scott Rogers stated, Politicians will only pay attention to the concerns of Americas younger generation when they become politically active and vote. The older generation has AARP, we have Political Sushi."
Scott Rogers developed Political Sushi, a non-partisan resource to reverse the trend of voter apathy among the young and give potential voters a tool to research the pressing political and social issues of the day and make an informed decision.
