Labor Day Educational Initiative Against Unions Supporting Abortion in Pittsburgh before 70,000 Marchers and 50,000 Watching in Labor Day Parade
Prolife Labor Advocates will be holding a bold demonstration in witness to the 70,000 union members marching and 50,000 onlookers at the Pittsburgh Labor Day Parade, Monday, September 6, 2004. Most rank-&-file members are unaware of the contributions that union leadership currently make to radical political causes contrary to their views, such as abortion and gay activism. Purpose is to inform rank-&-file union members that their dues can possibly be reduced and receive a partial refund of all dues that have gone to such political causes. But more importantly, to have the union rank-&-file members change their unions from within.
(PRWEB) September 6, 2004 -- Prolife Labor Advocates will be holding a bold demonstration in witness to the 70,000 union members marching and 50,000 onlookers at the Pittsburgh Labor Day Parade, Monday, September 6, 2004.
Other union facilities have been successful in networking and doing such petitioning to change the direction of union leadership that support abortion.
Please join us anytime or all-the-time from 7:30 am to 2 pm on Labor Day!!!
We'll start off at 7:30 am outside of St. Benedict the Moor Roman Catholic Church, the "dahntan" (downtown for non-Pittsburghers) corner of 91 Crawford St. at Centre Ave for their 8 am Labor Day Mass,

The Mass will be celebrated by the Fr. Jack O'Malley, chaplain to the state AFL-CIO. Fr. O'Malley gives us his blessings in this nonpolitical educational initiative. We also have the blessings of the chaplains from the Catholic Labor Network and the Social Justice Review.
Then the Labor Day Parade begins at 10 am, at Mellon Arena from Washington Place, down Centre Ave, to Sixth Ave, to Grant St, and down the Boulevard of the Allies, where the reviewing stand will be set up in front of the United Steelworkers of America building. The parade then concludes.
We will hold signs and hand out fliers on what union rank & file can do to look into and change their unions from within. We will do this educational and networking opportunity for the union rank-&-file members that are interested in this cause. We do not want to get into shouting matches on politics, or even on moral issues. We're going to just reach the thousands of rank-&-file that are interested, and avoid at all costs distractions to this.
After the parade may be other activities we could participate in. It's a little drive from downtown Pittsburgh, but there's going to be a Labor Day Picnic for the Washington AFL-CIO from 1 pm to 7 pm at the South Strabane Fire Hall, number 1 picnic ground, 1696 Maiden Street, Washington, PA. We can decide on this tomorrow.
Also please bring any video camcorders if you have them.
I hope all of you can join us! Please make up some signs too.
