The new Omni 3730 and Omni 3730LE terminals are entry-level models in the Verix-based Omni 3700 family that are optimized for merchant settings that require traditional dial-up communications and fewer applications than the popular Omni 3740 and Omni 3750 models.

VeriFone is extending the Verix based Omni 3700 family to answer the needs of the market niche that has traditionally relied on simpler products from Hypercom (NYSE: HYC), Lipman (NASDAQ: LPMA), or the refurbished market of older VeriFone solutions, according to Paul Rasori, VeriFones vice president of North America marketing. The Omni 3730 and Omni 3730LE both feature the innovative handover" style of the popular Omni 3750 and efficiently process debit, and credit` transactions. The Omni 3730 will also support a value added application such as gift card, loyalty, check conversion or pre-paid phone activation. Both models include the same backlit display, easy-to-read menu prompts, and intuitive ATM-style interface that have made the higher-end models so successful, as well as the integrated thermal printer and clam shell" design for drop-in paper loading that virtually eliminates paper jams.
