30th Common Ground Sanctuary Art in the Park set for this weekend in Birmingham, Mich.
This nationally recognized fine arts festival brings top artists from across the country to Shain Park in downtown Birmingham, Mich. The event is the primary fundraiser for Common Ground Sanctuary, an Oakland County-based nonprofit crisis services agency.
BIRMINGHAM, MI (PRWEB) September 8, 2004 -- The 30th annual Common Ground Sanctuary Art in the Park art fair is slated for Saturday, Sept. 11 from 10 a.m. -- 6 p.m, and Sunday, Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. -- 5 p.m. at Birminghams Shain Park. Admission is free.
Featuring ceramics, jewelry, paintings, sculpture, photography, glass and more, the juried fair will include 190 fine artists from across the country, a silent auction, food, entertainment and childrens activities.
Art in the Park is the primary fundraiser for Common Ground Sanctuary, an Oakland County-based nonprofit crisis services agency. Proceeds fund a 24-hour crisis line (800.231.1127), shelters for youths in crisis, family counseling and outreach to at-risk teens.
Helping people in need for more than 30 years, Common Ground Sanctuary's mission is to provide services to youths, adults and families in crisis. The agency's 24-hour crisis hotline, youth and family services, emergency psychiatric services and other programs throughout Oakland County are a lifeline for runaway and homeless youths, families in crisis, victims of crime, people with mental illness and others in critical situations. Common Ground Sanctuary serves more than 35,000 individuals per year and is supported in part by local grants and contracts, the Oakland County Community Mental Health Authority and United Way Community Services.
