STOUGHTON, MA (PRWEB) September 7, 2004 -- Backyard Jams, Inc., a new concept in music education and entertainment, announces the opening of its first practice and performance studio location in Stoughton, MA. Backyard Jams provides amateur musicians of all ages and abilities a unique opportunity to join a band to play music, write original songs, record a CD, and perform live in concert.

Founded in April 2004 by Matt Kaplan, a Sharon Massachusetts resident, Backyard Jams enables amateur musicians to experience the thrill of being in a real rock band. Playing music with others is a much different experience than playing alone," says Kaplan. Think of all the opportunities for young athletes to join a team to play soccer, baseball, basketball, or gymnastics. These outlets dont exist for the musician -- the drummer, guitar player, keyboardist, horn player, or vocalist. Backyard Jams was created to give all musicians just that opportunity."

Kevin Kung, a drummer and participant in two band programs, said, "My Backyard Jams experience was great...for the second time. It's great jamming with other people from other towns because you see and learn how much music plays a huge role in everyones lives."

For adults, Backyard Jams is a way to live out their rock and roll fantasies. There are many closet musicians who have done little with music since their college playing days," says Kaplan. After completing the summer program, Bob Trejo, a guitar and bass player and MIT graduate said, It felt great to live the dream again. Recording a CD and performing in front of my wife and daughter was a blast."

Backyard Jams band programs are led by experienced music instructors, some of whom are graduates of Berklee College of Music and skilled in many facets of musical education, performance, composition and production. The Backyard Jams studio is equipped with a complete set of instruments to make it easy for people to just plug in and let loose."

The eight-week band program consists of two-hour practices for six weeks followed by a recording session and a live performance for family and friends. The next program begins September 13, 2004 and enrollment is now open. To register, visit www.backyardjams.com or call (781) 344-4427.
