Seventeen-Year-Old High School Student Takes on eBay

Seventeen-year-old high school student, Matt Kirsch has designed and established Ticket-Auction.Net, a web-based auction site specifically created to take on web giant eBay for sports, concert and other event tickets.

(PRWEB) September 9, 2004 -- Matt Kirsch had two passions, he loved sports and loved to buy and sell on eBay the online auction site. It didnt take the seventeen year old Cheltenham High student long to find a way to combine the two into a new internet venture, www.Ticket-Auction.net.

With support from his dad Randy, and a group of enthusiastic friends, Matt worked with a grad student volunteer from the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania to design a business plan and develop a mission statement.

To provide a venue for ticket buyers and sellers to meet and trade safely and inexpensively on the internet" sums up the mission of www.Ticket-Auction.net. Matt did hours of research and worked with web designers and consultants to develop the website.

One person cant do it all," says Matt, Our technical consultant, Dave Henderson, has been an invaluable resource. The internet makes it possible to partner with a knowledgeable guy like Dave in Texas, and work with ticket brokers in Atlanta, Los Angeles and New York. Its amazing."

Ticket-Auction.Net has been able to attract brokers from around the country to provide another resource to distribute their tickets. Currently Ticket-Auction.net has over 13,000 auctions listed for sports, concerts and theater events.

eBay is great, but theyre a colossus. We fill a niche exclusively for the sports enthusiast or concertgoer, to go to when they need a hard to find ticket or to sell a ticket that they cant use at the last minute." In contrast to eBay Ticket-Auction.Net has more flexible rules to permit last minute opportunities. Prices for sellers are half of eBays across the board.

Now that weve attracted inventory, our next challenge is to get our name out in front of the ticket buying public," says the young entrepreneur who will be going to college next year. We were listed as the place to find tickets for sold-out events in the September issue of In-Style Magazine. They have a circulation of over a million readers." Matthew's success story will also be featured with Ticket-Auction.net in the Annual Wharton Small Business Center Newsletter.

Ticket-Auction.Net is a Pennsylvania corporation headquartered in Elkins Park, PA.
