UNIS LUMIN & RIGHT TO PLAY Unveil Web-based Volunteer Management System

Solution helps screen and match volunteers with programs across the globe aimed at enhancing the quality of children's lives in developing nations.

(PRWEB) September 21, 2004 -- Right to Play (RTP) is a humanitarian, non-governmental organization dedicated to using sport and play to enhance the lives of children living in disadvantaged situations in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

Serving over 20 countries worldwide and continually expanding project sites/locations, RTP relied previously on a paper-based system to manage their large portfolio of volunteers/staff and projects.

To improve the efficiency and accuracy of day-to-day operations, RTP selected UNIS LUMIN to develop a web-based project and volunteer management system that would be completely secure and accessible to candidates and staff anywhere in the world.

Using the website, volunteers are now able to complete and update their own applications online reducing the administrative burden on RTP staff and increasing the accuracy of information submitted. RTP can quickly and easily create projects, define the volunteer/staffing roles required and then use the site's powerful matching feature to instantly associate volunteers to a project.

The new website provides 7/24 hour access to information as well as a powerful reporting function to help RTP meet the demands of emergency preparedness, accountability and information dissemination.

"I want to thank you for helping make this project a huge success. Right To Play now has in place a web-based database that enables us to quickly and easily match candidates with our 42 projects across the world. This is a huge improvement over the complex spreadsheet system we used previously and has provided us with a platform for future growth and development of our web based services, " says Philip Shea,Associate Director, Organizational Development, Right to Play.
