Shadows of the Past is about how Seventeen year old Samantha Higgins becomes estranged from her family and while trying to learn how to survive on the street, she falls prey to Kyle, an very evil and dangerous man. Finding herself captive, Samantha's world suddenly becomes a fusion of fear and pain. After two years of abuse and nearly being at the breaking point, Samantha manages to escape. As she begins another journey to try to find justice and healing, Kyle is obsessively searching for her, leaving a trial of death and destruction in his path.

Governor Bill Owens has declared Saturday, November 6, 2004, as Colorado Author Day. Invesco Field at Mile High in Denver will be hosting Read, Colorado, which will host Colorado authors and their books. Hours will be 10am-4pm and admission and parking are free to the public. The event will be in the west club lounge.
