Austin, TX (PRWEB) September 9, 2004
Smarte Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of Piracy Management solutions, today announced the acquisition of Vincera Software, Inc., a provider of User Activity Intelligence solutions. Integration of both companies core technologies produces a fundamentally new approach that enables enterprises to Manage User Activity for Profitability. The resulting User Activity Management (UAM) Solution Suite delivers a broad platform that collects and categorizes real-time usage of digital content files, websites, web-based applications and PC-based software. UAM Applications aggregate that usage data for on-demand retrieval and analysis. UAM also enables enterprises to control end user access to their products after they have been deployed to the marketplace, giving enterprises a complete end-to-end solution to sense and react to their customerÂs behavior and need.
ÂAs a technology partner, VinceraÂs User Activity Intelligence took Piracy Management to an entirely new level, allowing customers to combine strong IP protection and license management solutions with invaluable on-demand user activity metrics, stated Bala Vishwanath, founder of Smarte Solutions and now Chief Strategy Officer for the combined Company.
Concurrent with the closing of the acquisition, Smarte Solutions has changed its company name to Vincera, Inc. By retaining the Vincera name, the company has more latitude where trademark issues are concerned. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
With the acquisition, Dave Malmstedt, former CEO of Vincera Software, Inc. joins as President and CEO, and Puru Agrawal, former Chief Technology Officer and founder of Vincera Software, joins as Chief Technology Officer.
ÂGoing forward, our UAM Solution Suite provides a new level of collaboration of usage analytics, business intelligence products, content protection and electronic license management technologies, stated Dave Malmstedt, new Vincera President and CEO. ÂIn the marketplace today, intelligence garnered from actual user activity is an under exploited and often completely overlooked driver of business success. To develop the ability to track user actions across all digital product mediums and quantify those actions on-demand requires an enormous amount of internal heavy lifting across corporate, marketing, information technology and development departments. UAM solves this problem by providing enterprises the capability to retrieve key user activity information from their field organizations, coordinate it from among many disparate data sources, format it in decipherable chunks, and analyze it for specific revenue generating purposes. UAMÂs strong access control component gives enterprises the power to proactively react to customer behaviors and encourage not only compliance, but also the upselling of enhanced levels of product or service, continued Malmstedt.
