GD&T Fundamentals Workshop Features Discussion of ASME Y14.41 Standard
Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing expert Alex Krulikowskis 3-day GD&T fundamentals workshop will feature a discussion of the new ASME Y14.41 Standard on tolerancing of solid models.
WESTLAND, MI (PRWEB) September 10, 2004 -- Effective Training Inc. (ETI) begins a series of training events with a three-day Fundamentals of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Workshop. The workshop will take place October 20-22, 2004, at the companys Michigan location. It is geared towards individuals who create or interpret engineering drawings. ETIs president, Alex Krulikowski, a noted educator, author, consultant, and expert on GD&T, will instruct the class.
Krulikowskis teaching methods are based on a series of goals and objectives. He will explain the terms, rules, symbols and concepts of GD&T as prescribed by the Y14.5 Standard. The workshop takes a hands-on approach" and includes practice problems that focus on GD&Ts application in industry. Students are encouraged to bring their own engineering drawings to class.
Krulikowski is a member of the ASME Y14.5 Committee on Dimensioning and Tolerancing and chairman of the Y14.41 Committee on Solid Model Dimensioning. As a workshop bonus, he will include a discussion of the new ASME Y14.41 Standard on tolerancing of solid models.
The Y14.41 Standard establishes requirements and references documents applicable to the preparation and revision of solid models for product definition." Krulikowski said. The new standard defines the exceptions and additional requirements to existing ASME standards for using product definition data sets or drawings in 3D digital format. Its intended for designers, engineers, and managers who are implementing math-based product development processes."
