The Nuggets SMS search engine: Deliver answers to your mobile phone
Nuggets is a new search engine for mobile phones. It answers questions via text messages (SMS).
Edinburgh, UK (PRWEB) September 10, 2004 -- The young language technology company Linguit GmbH (www.linguit.com) has announced the UK-wide launch ofNuggets (www.myNuggets.net), the first fully automatic question answering service for mobile phone users based on SMS technology which is popular in the UK and the rest of Europe.
Nuggets, when sent textmessages like "ASK When was Madonna born?", "ASK What does CPR stand for?", "ASK Do male kangaroos have bags?" or "ASK Who wrote 'Das Glasperlenspiel'?" searches Internet indices and uses techniques from Natural Languages Processing (NLP) to extract answers from them.
A question sent to the UK phone number 88600 via SMS gets answered for a fee by the software within seconds. The Nuggets service is intended to empower mobile (ordinary GSM phone) users, who might not have Internet access by other means.
