Bush states that the DHS has participated in criminal indictments

George W. Bush in his Principles of Immigration Reform stated that the Department of Homeland Security had participated in the criminal indictment of 774 individuals.

Miami, FL (PRWEB) September 10, 2004 -- George W. Bush in his Principles of Immigration Reform stated that the Department of Homeland Security had participated in the criminal indictment of 774 individuals.

The names of those so indicted were not released, but a number of cases have come to the attention of the nothomelandsecurity website

On July 2nd of this year, Penelope McClurg, mother of two American citizen children, was invited to Tampa International Airport where she was illegally seized by the Dept. of Homeland Security. There is no U.S. law covering this seizure. She is not a terrorist and at no time has the Dept of Homeland Security suggested that they thought she was.

McClurg, despite the fact that she is a Lawful Permanent Resident, was charged with "illegal entry". At a hearing (U.S. v. McClurg), before an Immigration Judge, it was discovered that the DHS could not charge her for illegal entry, however, she still remains in detention. A petition at http://www.nothomelandsecurity.com has been mounted for her release.

If President Bush is serious about his Principles of Immigration Reform, then he should ensure that this case, and the many others like it, are corrected immediately.
