Sacramento Area Businesswomen Help Women Escaping Abuse.

My Sister's House, a charity helping Asian and Pacific Islander women and children escape domestic abuse was the recipient of a grant from the Sacramento Chapter of eWomenNetwork, a networking organization for businesswomen.

(PRWEB) September 12, 2004 -- My Sisters House is an organization dedicated to serving the needs of Asian and Pacific Islander women escaping domestic violence.

EwomenNetwork is a networking organization for women in business.

What do they have in common? A mutual goal of supporting womens health, safety, and wellness.

This July in Dallas, more than $30,000 was donated by the eWomenNetwork Foundation to various women related charities in the United States. Every eWomenNetwork chapter raising $3000 searched their local areas for a charity to receive these funds through a grant process.

The Granite Bay and Sacramento Chapters of eWomenNetwork.com selected My Sisters House in Sacramento to receive the generously donated funds. Helping women gain financial and emotional strength to improve their personal and family situation is what eWomenNetwork is all about.

Escaping domestic violence is hard.
Leaving an abuser when you have children and no job skills is even harder.
Escaping when you dont speak enough English to call 9-1-1 seems impossible.
Who can you call? Where will you go? How will you survive?

These are the problems My Sisters House addresses. Their programming is built around a three-tiered framework:
·   Prevention -- community outreach and education.
·   Intervention -- 6-bed Safe Haven; Help Line.
·   Transition -- Women at Work Program, a client-centered, strength-based program for multicultural women who are domestic violence survivors, focused on self-sufficiency.

My Sisters House plans on using the funds donated by eWomenNetwork Foundation to develop New Beginnings", a womens support and learning group which is directly connected to the Safe Haven and Women at Work Program. New Beginnings is an 8-week curriculum intended to guide participants towards a more solid footing in their transition towards greater self-sufficiency.

EWomenNetwork Foundation:
·   To raise funds in support of health, safety, and wellness initiatives that benefit women and children in need.
·   To provide financial support to female students who have achieved academic excellence and demonstrated a commitment to success as a business or professional leader.
·   To establish partnerships with non-profit organizations, corporations, and local, civic, and governmental agencies who can provide needed resources.
·   To share the vast collective talents, experience and wisdom of the thousands of eWomenNetwork members with women in need and to future business and community leaders by femtoring," educating and training them.
·   To encourage an environment of caring, healing, and growth for women and girls to allow them the optimum potential for achieving individual goals.
