Taye Drums announces Endorser Franklin Vanderbilt playing at African Village Weekend Festival Saturday 11 September 2004

Taye Drums announced today that Endorser Franklin Vanderbilt will be playing with his band the LA Favorites at the African Village Weekend Festival Saturday, 11 September 2004. The LA Favorites features top LA-based musicians Derrick Edmondson on saxes, Carlyle Barriteau on guitar, Earl 'Big Juicy Johnson on keyboards, James Strong on bass, Jamie McCreary on vocals, and Franklin on drums. The African Village Weekend Festival being held Friday-Sunday September 10-12 2004 presents Black/African American music, life and culture to the community at large, and will display the wide array of sights and sounds that represent this historically significant and relevant culture.

(PRWEB) September 12, 2004 -- Taye Drums announced today that Endorser Franklin Vanderbilt will be playing with his band the LA Favorites at the African Village Weekend Festival Saturday, 11 September 2004. The LA Favorites features top LA-based musicians Derrick Edmondson on saxes, Carlyle Barriteau on guitar, Earl 'Big Juicy Johnson on keyboards, James Strong on bass, Jamie McCreary on vocals, and Franklin on drums.

Franklin, who also plays drums for legendary Grammy® Award winning R&B singer Chaka Khan, is also one of several top drummers featured in the new Taye StudioMaple 'The Most Important Thing ad campaign.

The 5th Annual African Village Weekend, being held September 10th -- 12th at Memorial Park in Upland, CA, will also feature live performances by smooth jazz artist Randy Crawford, Grammy® Award winner Ricky Lawson, pianist Bobby Lyle, special guest guitarist Paul Jackson, Jr., guitarist Doc Powell, and contemporary gospel/jazz artist S.P., along with other celebrity recording artists.

The African Village Weekend Festival presents Black/African American music, life and culture to the community at large, and will display the wide array of sights and sounds that represent this historically significant and relevant culture.
