New York, NY (September 15, 2004) -- Women In Technology International (WITI) will officially open the nomination process for the 2005 WITI Hall of Fame at the EmployeeROI Executive Symposium for Women Business Leaders (breakfast) on September 22, 2004 in New York City.
The 10th Anniversary Celebration of the WITI Hall of Fame will take place in New York City on June 28, 2005. This event will honor the 53 women already inducted to the WITI Hall of Fame and the 2005 recipients of this prestigious award.
All inductees will be invited to be recognized and celebrate their collective accomplishment. All the prior inductees will have the unique opportunity to get to know their fellow inductees as well as their newest peers to the WITI Hall of Fame in person.
The WITI Hall of Fame was established in 1996 by WITI to recognize, honor, and promote the outstanding contribution women make to the scientific and technological communities that improve and evolve our society. 2004 recipients included: Dr. Mary-Dell Chilton, principle Syngenta Fellow, Syngenta: Chilton is a winner of the Franklin Medal for making a discovery that launched the field of agricultural biotechnology; Dr. Gail de Planque, consultant: de Planque has made a broad impact in the global nuclear energy field; Dr. Pat Selinger, Fellow and vice president of data management architecture and technology, IBM; Judy Shaw, manager, Silicon Technology Department, Texas Instruments; and Dr. Susan Solomon, research scientist, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
