VisualSim 2.5.5 facilitates painless import of existing C/C++ system models, to secure current investment and accelerate design exploration
This release simplifies import of existing C/C++ models with minimal modification, enables user-customization of the expression language, extends the context-sensitive documentation and adds numerous System Bus models.
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) September 15, 2004 -- Mirabilis Design Inc. of Sunnyvale, CA announces VisualSim 2.5.5, the industrys first software application to integrate conceptual exploration and detailed architecture design of electronic systems. VisualSim is platform-independent, simulation software with combined graphical and textual modeling. VisualSim users construct both abstract and detailed system models using application- and design-specific, parameterized building blocks. This release simplifies import of existing C/C++ models with minimal modification, enables user-customization of the expression language, extends the context-sensitive documentation and adds numerous System Bus models.
Architects have been conducting ad-hoc performance modeling for a long time using point-tools with niche capabilities." says Deepak Shankar, CEO of Mirabilis Design Inc. These products have largely now exited the market or have limited support. Existing models have critical data that must be leveraged to minimize the integration of a new tool, such as VisualSim, into the design flow."
The C/C++ template includes input, output and bidirectional ports, common and user-defined C++ data types, access to variables across interface, automated port generation and asynchronous operations. This template supports a number of C++ compilers and Operating Systems including Visual C++, .Net, Borland and gcc on Windows and gcc on UNIX. Other compilers can be added using a template.
Using the executable specification nature of VisualSim Explorer, the documentation now contains embedded executable models. These embedded models can be modified and simulated to further reduce the learning curve and increase short-term Return on Investment (ROI). The step-by-step tutorials of example systems provide a natural starting point for over 30 applications. This release adds standard Bus models including VME, 1553B, SPI3 and networking systems such as Ether switch, 802.11 and Bluetooth. Additional examples illustrate use in automotive, wireless and large scale processor arrays.
Availability
VisualSim 2.5.5 is currently shipping and available on Windows, Linux, Solaris, HP/UX and MAC OS. VisualSim is available in two configurations. VisualSim Architect is a desktop application used to construct models and conduct explorations. VisualSim Explorer is a server-software for non-desktop users to view and execute simulations within Web Browsers. Annual pricing for VisualSim Architect starts at $15,000.
About Us
Founded in 2001, Mirabilis Design is a private software company that provides the Industrys first fully-integrated, abstract-to-detail modeling and simulation application solution for electronics and embedded software. Architects can create a visual executable prototype of the proposed product and conduct ad-hoc what-ifs to resolve feasibility issues and optimize for cost, performance and power. VisualSim is used by systems engineers, architects and embedded software designers. The software integrates model-based and language-based modeling with a native, multi-domain simulation kernel. The application-independent nature of the VisualSim libraries makes it applicable for wireless, defense, networking, aerospace, automotive, high-performance computing and semiconductors. VisualSim publishes an Applet of the simulation model for including in specifications and executing within common Web Browsers. Examples of these Applets and further information about Mirabilis Design and VisualSim are available at www.mirabilisdesign.com.
