ADBLOG.UK Launches On-line Trading via SMS

Buyers and sellers of new and used Mp3 players, mobile phones, DVD players and other gadgets are now able to trade with complete security on the UKs first, fully mobile phone compatible, 'classifieds web site launched today by Adblog UK (Adblog). Adblog sellers use a mobile phone payments system to purchase listing credits whilst buyers receive product alerts and sellers contact details via SMS. When used in conjunction with NatWest FastPay, transactions can be completed without any need for the exchange of email or credit / debit card information. FastPay will actually allow members to use their mobile number or email address to initiate payments.

Adblog sellers use a mobile phone payments system to purchase listing credits whilst buyers receive product alerts and sellers contact details via SMS. Adblog fees, which are billed directly to the users mobile phone when a text is sent to the Company, are 1.75 for a standard listing and 2.50 for a featured listing shown on the Adblog homepage (http://www.adblog.co.uk/). Once in credit the seller is then free to enter descriptive text and a picture onto the site in one of the specialised categories. Costs for the listing are the same for private sellers and 'pro retailers alike - no further charges are made. Unlike other online classified and auction sites, Adblog does not charge a percentage of the sale price. New sellers wishing to use Adblog can take advantage of a special introductory offer simply by sending an SMS (ADBLOG JOIN to 83248) to the Company. Their account is credited with six 'featured ad 30 day listing credits for just 3.00.

Buyers on Adblog are equally well served and secure. Classified advertisements are attractively presented within a fully searchable database. Users can search the primary Adblog site using a PC, laptop or handheld PC, or a text only version of the site using a 'WAP enabled mobile phone. Optional SMS text alerts can be sent to potential buyers when a product is listed that meets their particular criteria.

When a visitor to the site wishes to make a purchase he or she simply sends a text with a unique product code to Adblog and they receive the sellers contact details back a moment later. Adblog is fully integrated with the Natwest FastPay mobile phone payments system so that neither buyer nor seller needs to reveal any sensitive information to make or accept payments (other payment methods such as Nochex and PayPal are also supported). Transactions completed using NatWest FastPay, do not require any bank or credit account details to be communicated, making the system highly secure. As Adblog does not take any credit card details the entire process is safe, secure & cheaper to implement than Paypal & Nochex. Further highly secure payment options, such as a debit to a fixed line telephone bill, are planned for the future.
