Finally, after years of perseverance and patience, that day has arrived; Yancy has just become the owner and mobile computer technician for a new franchise with Geeks On Call® -- the nations premier provider of on-site computer services. Rocketing throughout the Atlanta suburbs in his sleek, retro-styled Chrysler PT Cruiser (affectionately dubbed a PC" Cruiser), Yancy delivers a complete range of critical computer services to homes and small-to-medium-sized businesses alike.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) September 16, 2004 -- Several years ago, as electronics technician Lloyd Yancy worked on laser-guided missiles and a bevy of other high-tech equipment, he occasionally ruminated about how this valuable hands-on experience would lead to bigger and better things one day.

Lloyd Yancys initial foray into the world of computers occurred as a teenager. Almost immediately he became fascinated with computer programming, and it was this field of study that he selected when he enrolled in college. However, he soon made the tough decision to change tracks and to seek a degree in electronics, because at that time the information-technology (IT) industry was still in its infancy and computer-oriented jobs were not as commonplace as they are now.

Upon completing his education, Yancy entered the electronics industry as a technician, eventually becoming a Senior Technician. Throughout the years he performed testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on simple electronic components like telephones and cable boxes, and he also had the opportunity to work with highly advanced devices such as laser-guided missiles. As part of his participation in those high-tech projects, he had to learn modern computer programming languages -- which rekindled his interest in computers. Thoughts of attaining a job in the IT industry danced through his head, but he knew that to make those daydreams a reality he would require more knowledge and training. After working diligently to receive his A+ certification, Yancy began to explore his opportunities. It was at this time that a friend of his -- who happened to own a franchise with Geeks On Call® -- recommended that Yancy look into purchasing a franchise of his own. Yancy did just that, and before he knew it he was open for business in the Atlanta suburbs, eager to solve the computer dilemmas in his community.

Geeks On Call® is the high-tech equivalent of a doctor who makes house calls. Too often small businesses and residential customers lose substantial time and money while waiting for their computer problems to be fixed by a large, impersonal retail store -- which often keeps the computer for a week or more and charges an arm and a leg! Refusing to tolerate this type of slow, unsatisfactory service, Geeks On Call® goes against the grain and brings help directly to the customers doorstep. Everything the Geeks technicians need to complete their tasks is nestled inside their sleek, retro-styled PC" Cruisers, which are emblazoned with the Geeks On Call® logo and toll-free phone number.

Launched in 1999, Geeks On Call® began its operations in Norfolk and Virginia Beach, VA -- where it experienced immediate success. Overwhelmed by the publics hunger for dependable computer support, Geeks On Call® realized the only way to satisfy its ballooning customer base would be to franchise the company. In early 2001 the first Geeks offspring was born, and since then approximately 195 franchises have been planted in 13 states throughout America -- plus the District of Columbia.

Not only have the expedient, reliable services provided by Geeks On Call® found success with residential clients but also with small-to-medium-sized businesses that simply cannot afford the enormous expense of hiring an IT staff. Instead of paying exorbitant salaries to keep a full-fledged IT staff on hand, these companies simply can turn to Geeks On Call® on those occasions in which computer services are required. Now everyone can have access to superior computer repairs, upgrades, troubleshooting, wired and wireless networking, personalized training, and custom-built PCs --without emptying their wallets.

Currently, Geeks On Call® offers service in the following states: Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. To schedule fast, on-site computer support, call 1-800-905-GEEK. For more information on the services provided by Geeks On Call®, log onto www.geeksoncall.com. To inquire about franchise opportunities, contact the World Headquarters at 1-888-667-4577.

Geeks On Call® franchises are independently owned and operated.
