Voxeo Corporation, the leading standards-based VoiceXML and CCXML IVR platform provider, and Voice Architects, the leading provider of speech interface design, development, and optimization services, announced at the SpeechTEK 2004 conference today a partnership to deliver a suite of valuable Voice User Interface (VUI) services to Voxeo's enterprise IVR customers and Evolution IVR developers.

"VUI design and tuning are critical to the success of speech projects, but the niche linguistic and usability skills necessary to build high quality VUIs are generally unavailable to software developers,” said Keith Rolle, Managing Director of Voice Architects. "With access to both Voxeo VoiceCenter IVR platforms and hosting services, and Voice Architects’ flexible suite of VUI services, Voxeo developers can create efficient and caller-friendly interfaces. Our joint services simplify the management of the speech application lifecycle, improve call completion, and ultimately produce a consistently better caller experience.”

The new services combine Voxeo VoiceCenter IVR platforms and hosting services with Voice Architects VUI technologies and processes. Leveraging automated log analysis, hot-spot problem reporting, and a six-sigma based VUI design and optimization process, the resulting solution makes it easy for enterprise IVR developers to understand where their applications are experiencing usability problems and, more importantly, what they can do to fix those problems.

Voxeo is launching the combined Voxeo/Voice Architects VUI solutions as part of its Extreme Support & Service program. The new services - Extreme VUI Design, Extreme VUI Analysis, and Extreme VUI Tuning - join an existing suite of Extreme Support Services from Voxeo, including valuable services for IVR specification, IVR prompt recording, IVR load testing, and IVR application monitoring. These services enable IVR and web developers to build and manage their own IVR applications, backed by free and for-fee support services from Voxeo as needed.

"The IVR industry has failed to make speech-driven IVR applications easy to develop, deploy, and tune." said Jonathan Taylor, President and CEO of Voxeo. "Having failed on this front, many IVR platforms vendors now focus on building the entire IVR application themselves, leveraging expensive, start-to-finish professional services teams. Unlike others, Voxeo continues to make it easy for our enterprise customers and channel partners to create, deploy, optimize, and control their own IVR applications with free resources and support services from Voxeo, and valuable, cost-effective professional services from industry leading partners like Voice Architects."

Extreme VUI Services are available immediately from Voxeo, and start at under $3000 per speech application.
