Many Falling Short On The Sarbanes-Oxley Act

The Sarbanes-Oxley Forum (http://www.sarbanes-oxley-forum.com) reports that almost 50% of organizations still haven't developed plans to comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

(PRWEB) September 21, 2004 -- The Sarbanes-Oxley Forum (http://www.sarbanes-oxley-forum.com) reports that almost 50% of organizations still haven't developed plans to comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Their onsite survey, of over 2000 different organizations, produced the following results:

Not Started 19.0%
Just Beginning Research 32.9%
Plan Created and Ready to Go 14.8%
Changes Being Implemented 16.7%
Almost Compliant 9.2%
Fully Compliant 4.5%

However, this doesn't tell the full story. For the most recent 1000 votes, cast from June to September, the figures are:

Not Started 19.2%
Just Beginning Research 29.5%
Plan Created and Ready to Go 13.5%
Changes Being Implemented 21.6%
Almost Compliant 11.2%
Fully Compliant 4.9%
