OGM’s LED Anchor Light Gets US Coast Guard Certified

OGMÂ?s Anchor Light is the latest to be certified to US Coast Guard standard 33 CFR 183.810 for new boats less than 20m (65ft).

Orca Green Marine Technology Corporation (OGM) announces today that their Anchor light has received certification to the US Coast Guard standard 33 CFR 183.810. The LED Anchor only light follows certification of OGM’s flagship product, an LED Tricolor/Anchor combo light that was certified earlier this year. Both lights underwent testing by IMANNA Laboratories, Inc (an independent US Coast Guard approved testing laboratory) for both ABYC and NMMA compliance. OGM continues to be the first to achieve compliance to the USCG standard with an LED-based Tricolor and Anchor combination light.

The LED anchor light provides sailboats and powerboats with a compelling solution to the long-standing issue of power consumption and reliability while at anchor. With power consumption at only 2.4W (0.2 amps), boats at anchor can ensure anchoring safety all night while limiting power drainage. The Anchor’s wide voltage range of 8VDC up to 36VDC allows it to be used easily for 12V, 24V or even 36V systems and the light will remain at full brightness as the battery drains down to 8Volts.

"Low power and longevity are extremely important factors to our remote customers like Kwajalein Range Services (KRS). The company manages the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Testing Site in the South Pacific and is tasked to import everything to maintain the site’s operations”, said Hobie Caldwell, OGM’s co-founder and CEO. “OGM’s commitment to building a quality product that withstands the extreme elements of the marine environment will ensure that our military, commercial and recreational boating customers can rely on our LED products for years to come."

OGM is currently shipping its TriAnchor and Anchor only lights to a variety of customers including boat builders, boat owners, mast manufacturers, and its established channel partners worldwide. The OGM Anchor and other LED Marine Lights are available now directly from OGM or their growing list of distributors, including African Cats in Europe and South Africa, SailNet, Sailors Solutions and Blue Water Ships Stores in the US. The Anchor only light retails for $119.USD.
