Multicultural author, Denise Turney, to appear at the First Annual Ogontz Avenue Blues, Books and Barbecue Festival in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 25, 2004. The event that is open to the community begins at 12 noon.

The festival, sponsored by Lifeline Music Coalition, is being held in the spirit of strengthening community, increasing education and promoting literacy. All residents and visitors to the Philadelphia area are encouraged to attend the event at 7152 Ogontz Avenue; the festival will begin at 12 noon and end at 6PM. I support efforts to educate and inspire a love of good books," Turney says. In her efforts to encourage reading, education and literacy, not only does Turney travel and attend cultural and literary events, she also funds the Chistell Annual Writing Contest.
