Stop is GO
Stealthnet.net is set to be first to implement universal STOP command for SMS Premium Rate Services
(PRWEB) September 22, 2004 -- From the 1st of November a collaboration of the UK mobile operators will introduce a universal Stop command to be used on shortcodes that have multiple services running on them. This could include ringtones or alert services.
A customer receiving a subscription service will be able to text in STOP in order to cease the service that sent them information last. By sending Stop ALL" All services on that that shortcode will be ceased.
Grant Hardy from Stealthnet.net a prominent UK and international premium rate, SMS and mobile content company said: This is great news for the consumer, it will allow them to control their spend, whilst increasing the level of confidence the general public has in SMS billed services.
SMS mobile content services are growing at a steady rate; there are many useful services now on offer to the public and this change will only encourage growth of this billing method in the future. As market leaders in billable mobile content, we see it our place to promote good practice amongst the UK service providers and as such we are pleased to announce that we intend to launch the universal STOP command in advance of the November 1st deadline. We hope this will encourage other service providers to follow suit and take a proactive approach in the future which will allow consumers to enjoy a better user experience.
