Corban Networks, Inc. acquires Bod Wireless and its communications facilities as part of its strategy to deploy WIMAX last mile and middle mile services along its network of 650 towers across rural America. The company will deploy a WISP OSS and support municipalities with metro pricing and upstream services which are not readily available in smaller cities.

Corban Networks Inc. (CNI), has acquired the stock and assets of Broadband on Demand (BOD) and Optimum Network Services (ONS), for an undisclosed amount. Hill Branscomb, Managing Partner of the two entities, will become a Corban Networks Senior Vice President.

“The purchase of the stock and assets of BOD/ONS will greatly enhance the value of Corban Networks. In addition to our present private-line transport business, our strategic direction focus is on the delivery of last mile wireless broadband. Corban provides a unique network footprint that traverses 28 states with access to over 650 microwave towers and 60 terminal locations providing voice, data and video services throughout rural America. BOD/ONS brings the last mile component essential to that deployment, and provides the OSS services so critical to success in these markets.” – Ray Powers, Chief Operating Officer of Corban Networks, Inc.

The acquisition is the first for Corban Networks following it’s formation based on the $11 million stock and asset purchase and integration of Corban Communications Inc., Corban Towers Inc., and Colorado 419 Inc.

Corban Networks will continue to provide private-line and Internet access over its digital backbone, and is migrating into Wireless Broadband Access Services over its network as well as providing access through its gateway switch to international long distance routes. Additionally, the company will continue to provide a high level of Professional Network Design, Collocation, Module Repair and Television Signal Transport services.
