Second-ranked Miami visits Houston on Thursday in a nationally televised game featuring the Hurricanes. Houston is 1-2 this year and took a pounding from 3rd-ranked Oklahoma 63-13 two weekends ago. Miami blanked lowly Louisiana Tech last week 48-0.
Top ranked USC goes to Stanford on Saturday in a Pac-10 conference showdown. Both teams are undefeated. USC is 3-0 and Stanford is 2-0.
The No. 1 Trojans routed BYU 42-10 last week in Provo, UT and Stanford also beat BYU the previous week 37-10.
Oklahoma has the week off and so does 4th-ranked Georgia. No. 5 California has another week to rest after its game last Thursday at Southern Mississippi was postponed due to bad weather from Hurricane Ivan.
