New system will automate remaining paper-based process within physician practices.

The Westchester Medical Group, a 70 physician practice in White Plains, New York, will be the first clinical environment to close the final gap in complete automation of its medical practice as the result of a technology alliance formed today by Galvanon and Kryptiq Corp. By integrating both an online patient portal from Kryptiq Corp. with an in office patient self-service kiosk from Galvanon connected to a GE Healthcare Centricity EMR system, Westchester Medical Group will streamline the patient check-in process, reduce administrative costs, and enhance the patient experience.

“The check-in kiosks will automate one of the last parts of our practice that is still paper based – the check-in process,” said Dr. Simeon Schwartz, President of The Westchester Medical Group. “We’re always looking for ways to reduce administrative costs, and we believe the kiosks will do that. In addition, it will provide an added convenience for our patients by reducing wait times and administrative redundancy.”

In the physician office, patients can use MediKiosks from Galvanon to check-in, verify appointments, enter medical history, sign consent forms, and conduct payments. Outside of the physician office, patients can use Kryptiq’s CareCatalyst product, an integrated Web portal, that provides patients secure online access to services such as appointment scheduling, referral requests, prescription renewals, and secure message communication. By integrating both online and in-person patient information with electronic medical records, physician practices can automatically unite patient data, creating a portable and up-to-date electronic medical record.

“The combination of the MediKiosk system with Kryptiq’s CareCatalyst portal will extend the value of Centricity within any physician practice,” commented Luis Machuca, Kryptiq Corporation CEO. “Both Galvanon and Kryptiq are focused on delivering systems that help physicians improve the quality of care and reduce administrative burden.”

According to Galvanon CEO Clynt Taylor, “The MediKiosks product was conceived initially to help our clients enhance the patient experience through self-service applications. More importantly, they help reduce costs, reduce the potential for data entry errors, and drive patient satisfaction. Uniting Kryptiq and Galvanon products will be an important link between a healthcare organization’s quality care initiatives and the ideal patient experience.”

Galvanon helps healthcare organizations enhance the patient experience at home, in the hospital, and in the physician’s office through innovative solutions such as kiosks, web self-service applications, and CVM software—solutions that streamline everyday patient interactions and improve patient flow through the healthcare process.
