Local New Jersey filmmakers to make film in one weekend!
Cup OMeat Productions to compete in 2004 National Film Challenge. Their goal will be to make a movie from scratch -- writing, shooting, editing and adding music -- all in one weekend.
South Orange, NJ (PRWEB) September 26, 2004 -- Next weekend, local South Orange filmmakers Ron Houghtaling and Eric Kritzler will face a reel" challenge. Their Cup OMeat Productions film team will make a movie from scratch -- writing, shooting, editing and adding music -- all in one weekend. As part of the National Film Challenge (NFC), they are competing with teams all across the country to make the best short film.
Details of the Competition:
• On Friday, October 1, at 7pm, Houghtaling and Kritzler will receive an e-mail giving them a genre for the film they will create. The e-mail will also include a character, prop and line of dialogue that must be incorporated in the film.
• From Friday until Monday, they must write, shoot, edit and score music for their film which must be mailed to the NFC headquarters with an October 4 postmark. Films must be between four and eight minutes long.
•Their film will then compete with films from around the nation with the best to be included on a nationally distributed DVD.
Cup OMeat Productions was established in 1998 as a creative collaboration of two long-time friends. Houghtaling and Kritzlers work has earned them awards and accolades, including an honorable mention for their film The Mentor, which they entered in the 2003 National Film Challenge.
The Mentor, as well as Glee, another of Cup OMeats short films, will also be part of the 2004 Dancing Goat Short Film Festival taking place October 1--3 in South Orange.
