The WOrld Remains Unafraid

Worldwide, the number of English- and Spanish-speaking expatriates is growing.

Copenhagen, DK (PRWEB) September 27, 2004 -- Global relocation surveys and our own numbers tell us that despite terrorist threats, professionals are mobile beyond their own borders. U.S. firms project expatriate activity as increasing by almost 40% from previous years.

To serve the growing need for media aimed at expatriates, last year the Danish publishing company, VDN A/S, introduced 2 new magazines: ABROAD and MORADA (http://www.abroad-magazine.com, http://www.morada-int.com).

VDN announced today that the two magazines, available globally by subscription, have braved through their toughest year-the first. Typically, magazines are at risk for perishing with each issue. About 60% fail in their first year, 80% by their fourth year, but both magazines are funded through 2007. Already successful with Nyt Fra Danmark (News from Denmark), publisher, Allan Aistrup used the combined talents of journalists, Charles Ferro and Eduardo Lopez de Luzuriaga to produce the new magazines.

ABROAD and MORADA are the only magazines written for and by expatriates. Moving to a new country presents its own unique set of challenges and joys. While the magazines are clearly niche publications, they promise universal appeal. Each issue highlights topics such as: relocation concerns, health, investment, work, family, lifestyle, travel and humor.

In the Autumn issue (27 Sept 2004), the editors interview famous expatriates: Harry Belafonte, Lars Ulrich, and Philip Glass, who find inspiration in various corners of the globe. That tops off lively and intelligent content including: polar bear watching, culture shock coping tactics, offshore investment regulations, kissing for health and how American expatriates can vote in the November 2004 election.
