Worldwide Internet Basset Rescue Music Special "Remember Their Lives" To Air October 7th

Local midwest musician/composer Robert Kramer & his record label Dimension 1 Records sponsoring an hour-long internet music special to help raise funds for Guardian Angel Basset Rescue.

(PRWEB) September 27, 2004 -- Dimension 1 Records has just announced a special 2004 reissue for local Chicago musician/composer Robert Kramers' well-known "basset hound rescue" CD, "Remember Their Lives", in conjunction with a special internet radio program to help raise funds & awareness for Guardian Angel Basset Rescue, a basset rescue organization based out of Dwight, Illinois.

The release, originally recorded in 2001, became GABR's official "rescue CD", and helped to encourage people to help using the title song of the CD as the theme to "..Remember Their Lives.."

On the album, which gained the musician/composer acclaim in the basset rescue community for it's expansive range & emotional impact, Kramer interspersed serious, heartfelt piano ballads with humorous and touching instrumentals ranging in musical styles from blues, world pop, & classical orchestral to soundscapes, even mixing in vocals from his own basset hound, "Flash" from time to time with humorous yet intriguing results.

To kick off the re-release and the awareness campaign, an hour-long worldwide special internet program will be broadcast live, Thursday, October 7th on ArtistFirst.Com, and will feature selections off the album, plus interview segments from Robert Kramer and a Guardian Angel Basset Rescue representative.

"I'm doing this show because I believe in what Guardian Angel Basset Rescue is trying to accomplish and support their efforts 100%.." says Kramer, who joined GABR as a member and supporter a few years ago after attending a local basset rescue fund-raising event known as "a waddle", with his wife, Dona.

With the current state of affairs regarding animal abuse and abandonment, the show is just one segment of a much wider effort going on across the country with animal rescues trying to stem the tide of over-population of pets and the all too often tragic ends that result from abuse and neglect.

"Up until now, we've done what we could, but we need to get the word out and discourage "puppy mills" and pet shops whose only priority is to turn a profit, regardless of what enviornment the animal is put into.." continues Kramer.

"There are many beautiful, sweet-natured bassets that have been rescued who were victims of mis-treatment and abuse that would turn your stomache...one hound was rescued that had been left chained up in a yard with barbed wire wrapped around its' snout...all it wanted was food and attention...our efforts have only made a small dent in the problem, but I live for the day when stories like that are no more....we're asking people to open their hearts and help in whatever way they can..."

During the internet program, Kramer will offer the CD for sale, donating 50% of all proceeds to Guardian Angel Basset Rescue.
