Major water utility signs 3 year credit card payments deal with industries largest privately owned payment provider.

(PRWEB) September 30, 2004 - Yarra Valley Water, a Victorian Government owned company providing domestic and commercial water supply and sewerage services to Melbournes Northern and Eastern suburbs, has signed a 3 year contract for the supply of credit card payment processing services with payment & billing specialist SecurePay. Allan Cole, Yarra Valley Waters Manager Financial Services , says SecurePays transaction response times, service and support mechanisms " were key factors in the awarding of the contract.

Since the implementation of SecurePay we have improved the service provided to our customers paying their account via credit card over the phone," stated Mr Cole . SecurePays transaction processing services are initiated by Yarra Valley Water customers paying their bills via telephone using interactive voice response (IVR) technology operated in-house by Yarra Valley Water. The SecurePay system receives payment requests from the IVR system and routes them in real-time to the bank for authorisation and settlement. Rapid response times are critical, ays Mr Cole , as the customer is waiting on the telephone whilst the transaction is in progress. Any undue delay will impact on the customers satisfaction of this payment method. SecurePays response times are monitored closely and we are happy to say that our customers experience has improved considerably since introducing the system".

Myles Bertrand, SecurePays National Sales Manager, stated that the contract reaffirms SecurePay as the payment provider of choice for the utility and government sectors with Yarra Valley Water contributing about 600,000 transactions each year.
