Spillman Technologies announced today that the City of Live Oak, Texas selected SpillmanÂs software solutions for records management, computer-aided dispatch, fire/EMS management, and resource management to meet the public safety needs of the growing community. The new software package will provide Live Oak with automated report generation, faster response rates, better resource tracking, and improved communications, along with personnel cost savings.
ÂOur city is experiencing a growth spurt and the demand for police, fire and other emergency services is escalating, said Jim Nardone, system administrator.
The implementation includes Live OakÂs first computer-aided dispatch system, which is expected to reduce emergency response times to the cityÂs citizens, as well as to residents of three additional communities for which Live Oak provides dispatch services. In addition, the new system will improve the accuracy and efficiency of communications among responding agencies, such as Converse, Selma, and the Judson Independent School District.
ÂProviding high quality, scalable, efficient and reliable dispatch service at an affordable cost remains a difficult challenge for us, said Nardone. ÂSpillman provides us with total integration of the many facets of our operation, which goes a long way towards enabling us to meet this challenge.Â
According to Nardone, the cityÂs previous records software system was unreliable, cumbersome and inflexible. ÂWe did not possess enough features to facilitate efficient, adequate workflow, he said.
Included in the new system is a Âstate link module that enables officers to query state and federal databases for information about people, vehicles or property. Nardone said having access to more information will increase officer safety, while saving personnel time during investigations and routine inquiries. ÂThe state link will add speed and efficiency to database inquiries, he said.
Based in Logan, Utah, Spillman Technologies provides a full range of software solutions for public safety agencies. The software is installed at more than 500 agencies nationwide.
